BEST ZOMBIE KILL:
Zombie kill of the week: A woman drops a piano on a zombie, flattening it.
If you're looking for a zomedy that can hold it's own against 'Shaun of the Dead', you might find it in Zombieland. It's not the same style as Shaun, but there's a lot to like about this gory comedy, and a lot to laugh about as well. When you're not laughing your arse off at the amusing antics of Woody Harrelson 's character, 'Tallahassee', then you're wondering to yourself why the zombie apocalypse hasn't happened yet... because it looks like a lot of fun!
We get started with our protagonist, 'Columbus' (most of the characters actual names are never spoken, we know them only by where they're from), who introduces us to his list of rules for zombie survival. These rules make sense, such as rule #1: Cardio, and the effectiveness of the rules are demonstrated with hilarious results. Soon, Columbus forms with a group and travel together... violence and laughs ensue.
All parts are acted competently, and the plot is straight forward. There are a couple points when you think to yourself "Now why on earth would they do THAT?", but other than those thoughts, it's not a flick that makes you feel dumb for watching it. It's not a predictable story either, which is refreshing considering that you'll know what will happen in some zombie movies before the opening credits roll.
If you're a fan of zombies or comedy you're sure to enjoy this flick. It's a well rounded film with all the essentials of surviving the zombie uprising. Lots of guns, plenty of gore, tons of laughs and much more. If you're not willing to give this a buy, and we recommend that you do, at least go out and rent it. We guarantee* you'll enjoy it.
