MORE REVIEWS:

Quarantine is an American remake of the instant classic 'REC', a Spanish zombie film we reviewed a few weeks before Quarantine was released on DVD & Blu Ray. The great thing about this remake is, it matches the original in quality, terror and overall enjoyment. This is something that most remakes only dream of achieving.

What helps to make this remake stand up next to it's original is that the stories match up so close that you'd think it was the exact same movie. Unlike other remakes that try to twist and turn the story so it's completely different from the original, this flick mirrors its parent film's story and mood... not an easy task in itself. (See our review of 'REC' for a plot synopsis)

There are some fundimental differences between the movies, so don't go thinking if you've watched one you can skip the other, oh no, that would be a mistake. Instead, compare the two as you watch them. They both bring a lot to the table and it would be a shame to count them as one in the same.

The acting, story, terror and mood of Quarantine makes it a definite must-see. The unexpected twists, chilling suspense and stomache churning gore of this flick makes it a good 'turn down the lights and watch' flick. We think this should be in the home video collection of any horror fan, and it's unquestionable that you should add it to your collection if you're a fan of Zombies.
